Since joining the Council, they have attended a majority of the biannual meetings in Washington DC. Over the years, CMPF staff have volunteered for the Don’t Fry Day committee, Advocacy Committee (Dept. of Defense Congressional Request), and lectured on numerous occasions at meetings. CMPF co-authored an article with Center for Disease Control’s Epidemiologists, Meg Watson and Dawn Holman, entitled, UV Radiation Exposure and It’s Impact on Skin Cancer Risk published in the Seminars in Oncology Nursing Skin Cancer Issue (August, 2016). CMPF was proud to be recognized by the NCSCP in 2017 for their Don’t Fry Day campaign which reached over one million residents, tourists, and visitors in Massachusetts. The campaign included a public service announcement via a digital billboard, obtaining a Proclamation from Gov. Baker officially recognizing Don’t Fry Day in the Commonwealth, and local teaching. CMPF is a proud member of the NCSCP and Don’t Fry Day Sponsor.
